Terms of Service

Booking & Payment

  • Prices advertised on this website and on booking forms are in AUD and are current, subject to change without notification (unless locked during the quoting period). All prices are fixed and non-negotiable.

  • The minimum booking value for all bridal bookings is $850 (not including bridal preview (trial), travel, parking & call out fees)

  • To secure a bridal booking for your date:

  • Once a contract is signed and returned, this confirms your agreement of the quote, booking details and terms of the contract (including the terms of service on this page). This, combined with receipt of the booking retainer fee payment, will mean your wedding event time and date will be exclusively reserved for you. The remainder of the bridal booking balance is due for payment 7 days preceding the wedding event date.

  • The booking retainer fee is paid to secure your wedding event date AND to cover the time spent on the initial communications and administration required to fulfill services to the future wedding event (usually 2+ hrs). It is non-refundable in circumstances of cancellation without notice or cancellation not related to government-imposed restrictions or force majeure event before the wedding event.

  • Mia Loves Pretty only services 1 wedding per day.

  • To secure a bridal trial booking please refer to the in-studio booking section of this website.

  • Payments to Mia Loves Pretty are to be made via direct bank transfer. Credit card payments are available for bridal bookings less than $800 (transaction fees do apply).

Travel & Parking

  • Please be mindful that travel fees apply if car travel to the preparation location is more than 10 km (one way) from Mia Loves Pretty’s studio. This starts from $100 per hour.

  • It is implied that parking will be provided at the location in which Maria and any assistant artists will be travelling to. In circumstances where this is not the case, the client will be required to cover any parking fees or valet services incurred while makeup and/or hair styling services are being provided. For example, parking meter fees, hotel parking fare, valet parking etc. This will be added as an addendum to the final invoice.

  • If travel is required interstate or overseas, please indicate this to Maria in the bridal booking form and she can propose a travel plan and the indicative fee required to service your makeup/hair request. Car travel over 100km one way (or 2 hours driving time) to the preparation location (from the Mia Loves Pretty studio) is classified as a destination wedding and additional rates (such as overnight stay on location) may be required.

Add’l Items

  • Additional artists are required to assist wedding parties of more than 3 people for makeup & hair services or 6+ people for makeup or hair or early preparation start times or tight wedding day schedules. This will incur an additional $250 per artist hired to cover the extra artist time. This will be communicated to the client during consultation at the quoting stage and confirmed once the number of people requiring service is finalised.

  • Call times between 6.00am - 7.30 am will incur a surcharge of $100 (please note Maria does not provide services with start time earlier than 5am)

  • Service required on Australian Public Holidays will incur a surcharge of $100.

  • Hair and makeup preparation instructions and guidelines will be sent to the client after booking is confirmed to ensure that hair and skin is in optimal condition for hair styling and makeup application on trial and wedding day.

Bridal Booking Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Cancellation

To cancel a booking please notify Maria as soon as possible via email at marialee@mialovespretty.com. Cancellation and rescheduling policy is as follows:

  • Cancellation within 5 days of signing contract

    Should the client cancel the booking within 5 days of contract signing, the booking retainer fee ($250) will be refunded. If the client cancels a portion of service within the contract within 5 days of contract signing, no penalty applies as long as the minimum booking of $850 remains.

  • Cancellation after 5-day grace period

    If the client decides to cancel the booking after the 5-day grace period, the booking retainer fee ($250) will be kept as a cancellation fee. Alternatively the booking retainer fee may be transferred either as credit for an on-location service at the next available date or an in-studio service.

    Please note a change-of-mind is not accepted as grounds for a refund. The default case for cancellation after the 5-day grace period usually means the booking retainer fee is kept as a cancellation fee. However as weddings can be such an emotional time please speak with Maria as soon as a cancellation is likely to occur.

  • Contracted Services

    If the client cancels a portion of service outlined in the contract after the 5 days grace period, no penalty applies as long as the minimum booking value of $850 remains. The client may add on more services to the contract up to 2 months before the event date (as long as the event day schedule allows it).

  • Cancellations during COVID / due to government-imposed restrictions

    With the ever fluctuating government restrictions, every effort will be made to work alongside our bridal clients to ensure the best outcome for your event.

    In the event that the client wishes to cancel their wedding due to government-imposed restrictions or Mia Loves Pretty is required to cancel the booking due to government-imposed restrictions, the client has the option to postpone their wedding date (within 365 days of the original booked date) and all payments made to date will be transferred to the new event date (subject to availability) OR cancel the booking indefinitely with all paid monies returned (including the booking retainer fee).

  • Force Majeure

    In the rare event that Maria or the assisting Mia Loves Pretty artist is suffering from any illness, unforeseen event, act of God event, death or family emergency, disabling or preventing Maria or the assisting Mia Loves Pretty artist from servicing the booking, all efforts will be exhausted to secure the services of another qualified/experienced and trusted professional makeup artist &/ hair stylist to cover the event, and any booking retainer fees or payments made to date will be transferred to the covering artist.

    If cover cannot be arranged for the revised event date, 100% of the payments made to date will be refunded to the client.

Rescheduling / Postponement

  • If the client wishes to postpone or move forward their bridal booking for reasons other than government-imposed or government-advised restrictions, and Maria or the assisting Mia Loves Pretty artist is available for the revised event date, the paid booking retainer fee may be transferred to the new date ONCE. Re-scheduling more than once will incur another booking retainer fee.

  • If Maria or the assisting Mia Loves Pretty artist is not available for service on the revised event date, the booking retainer fee will be kept as a cancellation fee or transferred as credit available for use at a later date for an in-studio appointment (within one year).

Sickness / Allergies / Illness

  • If the client or people receiving service has any allergies or sensitivities to certain makeup ingredients, makeup tools & accessories or makeup product brands, you must notify Maria and/or the servicing Mia Loves Pretty artist immediately and at least 1 month before event day.

  • If the client or the people to receive service is suffering from any illness (contagious or not) please notify Maria or the servicing artist before the event day so that additional precautionary measures or evaluations on whether to proceed with the booking can be made.
