I was kindly given this Living Nature lipstick for review*, and I realised, with the exception of my love for MAC's Mineralized Skinfinishes, I didn't possess anything from any mineral makeup brands or mineral makeup in general. I think I always had this idea in my head that they didn't hold up with the longevity and professional finish that I require. Unknowingly, this brand is 100% New Zealand made (whoop whoop!), the ingredients are all natural (and certified as such) and the shade I tested out; "Bloom" looked like a pretty pink/coral shade, quite akin to the MLP aesthetic hah!
I was expecting the lipstick to have a glossy finish, but to my surprise it was more of a pigmented creamy matte finish. The shade reminded me of a very muted version of Lime Crime's "Geradium". Barrelled in a soft rubber feel casing (quite akin to the NARS packaging), this lipstick has a bevelled bullet, where both sides of the lipstick bullet is rounded off, not just flat to one side like a normal lipstick, and because of this, I found it quite easy to apply on my relatively thin lips. A light layering goes along way, and if you are a girl that loves to run the lipstick bullet over and over again, make sure to smooth the lipstick out with your ring finger so that you don't get any settling in fine lines.
At a price point of $NZ40, with $NZ1 of the proceeds going towards the Breast Cancer Network NZ, it does catapult this brand to the higher end of the makeup spectrum. Given I love the vanilla scent of MAC lipsticks, the non-scent "scent" of this lipstick is something I am happy to glossover as the shade is so pretty and versatile.
You can pair shades like this Living Nature number with lilacky smokey eyes, slight coral blush, and maybe even a pastel blue nail colour and you'll be sure to look fresh this summer! Or better yet, keep it even cleaner with a just flick of mascara over curled lashes, and keep your skin fresh and soft with just some tinted moisturiser!

*I don't post reviews or talk about anything unless I genuinely feel positive about the product and would have no qualms using the brand and/or product on myself or on future makeup clients. My opinion is genuine and no amount of free product or consideration would influence me to post about it on Mia Loves Pretty!
